Minority-Owned Market Slated for La Cité Location

La Cité Development has entered into a definitive agreement to establish Market Fresh Gourmet as a full-service fresh foods grocery at its Center\West site. Construction is anticipated to begin in the Spring of 2021 on the northwest corner of the site at Fayette and Schroder Street. Center\West is a large-scale redevelopment of 32.94 acres of land in the Poppleton neighborhood of Southwest Baltimore.

Baltimore Designs Model to Pilot School-Centered Housing to Families

Last year, Fannie Mae awarded a contract for Baltimore to develop a model to provide school-centered housing to young families in elementary school. Community Benefits TIF Advances for Perkins Somerset Oldtown Transformation Plan

Today, the Baltimore City Planning Commission unanimously approved the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) legislation for the Perkins Somerset Oldtown (PSO) Transformation area. The PSO Transformation area is a 244-acre site that includes Perkins Homes, the former Somerset Homes site, and the Oldtown Mall.

Application Deadline Extended to July 19 for Temporary Rent Support Program

The Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) has extended the application deadline for the City’s Temporary Rent Support program to Sunday, July 19, at 7 p.m. The program supports eligible renters by making rent payments to landlords on behalf of tenants.

Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) Issued To Support Production of Affordable Rental Housing

DHCD is making up to $2 million available from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to support new construction of affordable rental housing and/or rehabilitation of existing rental projects for affordable housing. Eligible applicants for this NOFA can request a maximum of $750,000 per project.
