Increased Construction Costs 

On May 27, 2022, DHCD made available, up to $1,000,000 from its Affordable Housing Trust Fund, designated for award recipients of rounds 1 and 2 of the New Construction/Preservation of Existing Rental Housing NOFA.  These funds are intended to provide and leverage support for the previously awarded projects, in an effort to address increased construction costs.

Applications for this assistance were considered and prioritized, if project construction begins within 12 months of the application date. Eligible applicants could apply for up to $200,000.00 per project.  The application period closed on August 29, 2022.  Awardees, pending Board of Estimates approval, are as follows:

New Construction/Preservation of Existing Rental Housing NOFA - Round Three

On April 27, 2022, The Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) posted a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for developers to submit applications to support New Construction/Preservation of Existing Rental Housing units. Up to $6.0 million is being made available from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF).  Eligible applicants for the NOFA could request a maximum of $1,000,000 per project. The application period closed on June 10, 2022.  Awardees, pending Board of Estimates approval, are as follows:

The Baltimore City Department of Housing & Community Development (DHCD) issued this Notice of Funding Availability for Community Land Trusts – Single Family Homeownership in September 2021.  Up to $4 million was made available for CLT initiatives through the City’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund.  The City seeks to promote equitable community development by directing funds to communities suffering from long-term and historical disinvestment. This NOFA’s projects support DHCD’s community development goals of meeting the demand for affordable housing and integrating land trust homes as part of a broader mixed-income housing strategy.  Awardees, pending Board of Estimates approval, are as follows:

This NOFA included a designation of 10% for emerging developers, who are defined as: Developers who have completed at least three (3) and no more than five (5) projects.  Awardees, pending Board of Estimates approval, are as follows:
